I may literally be incapable of sitting and watching a movie, listening to music, watching my kids play, surfing the internet or even - gasp - reading a book, and NOT doing something with my hands. Combine that with a love of handmade everything, and I am the perfect candidate for a crochet addiction!
I first learned to crochet from my grandmother, who, at the time, had lost most of her sight and crocheted left handed. After several failed attempts on my own, I hit the internets and scoured youtube for beginner crochet videos. Soon I had created my first rag rug! For Christmas that year I took on what was, at the time, the monumental task of making rag rugs for all of my family members.
Hi! My name is Sara. I was born and raised in Lawrence, KS. I'm a happily married, stay at home mom to two boys. My favorite thing to do in my spare time is crochet.
Once I tried crocheting with yarn I was hooked (pardon the pun). What started out as slow, tedious, awkward creations soon turned into hats, scarves, blankets, amigurumi and other stuffed animals, phone covers, headbands, purses, etc. I've followed patterns, made lots of freehand creations, and even started writing some of my own patterns.
I never thought this was something I could make money at, although everyone kept telling me I could. After struggling for some time trying to raise a family on a single income, I finally decided, hey - what have I got to lose? Let's give it a try. So here we go. I hope you enjoy my creations as much as I do!
